The Passing of PBSO K-9 “Kenzo”

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of PBSO K-9 “Kenzo”. He served heroically from 2006-2013 and was responsible for countless felony apprehensions, one of which K-9 Kenzo sustained a gunshot wound while apprehending a murder suspect. On June 4, 2012, K9 Kenzo located the suspect hiding and ready to ambush deputies. K9 Kenzo drew the suspect’s attention away from approaching deputies resulting in him being shot twice by the suspect before deputies could return fire.

PBSO Honor Guard Attend Funerals in Baton Rouge

PBSO Honor Guard members attended the fallen law enforcement officers’ funerals in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Thousands of law enforcement officers from across the country and Canada gathered in Baton Rouge to honor the fallen heroes who paid the ultimate sacrifice. There was a show of overwhelming support for these brave men that came from the community in which they served. Although the mood was somber, many residents gave their condolences and thanked those in uniform with handshakes, prayers and hugs.

Honoring the memory of PBSO Deputy Frederick A. Baker

Today we Honor the memory of PBSO Deputy Frederick A. Baker.

At the young age of 35, he was shot and killed while attempting to arrest a group of fugitives in the Everglades, 25 miles north of West Palm Beach. The gang was wanted for crimes spanning several years, including the murders of Deputy Wilber Hendrickson, of the Dade County Sheriff’s Department, and Officer John Riblet, of the Miami Police Department, on June 2, 1915.
