Colonel Eric Coleman oversees the Department of Uniform Operations of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office which encompasses all 20 patrol districts, the Field Operations Bureau, and Support Services. The Department of Uniform Operations has a staff of nearly 1,500 dedicated men and women committed to serving the residents and visitors of Palm Beach County.

Colonel Coleman has been a resident of central Palm Beach County since 1973. Since his law enforcement career began in 1985, Colonel Coleman has served in a variety of assignments throughout Palm Beach County while promoting through the ranks to include: Uniform Operations, investigative assignments in Crime Property, Homicide, Special Victim’s Unit, Court Services, Internal Affairs, and Narcotics.

Colonel Coleman is a graduate of Barry University; the DEA Drug Unit Commander Academy; the FBI National Academy, Session #264; Leadership Palm Beach County, Class of 2020; and is currently enrolled in Leadership Florida Cornerstone Class 42. Colonel Coleman is married with four children.
