Major A. Jermaine Ford began the first 4 years of his law enforcement career as a police officer with the Boynton Beach Police Department, located in the City of Boynton Beach, FL. In 1999, Major Ford joined the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) as a Deputy Sheriff. His previous assignments include Road Patrol Deputy, Narcotics Agent, DEA Task Force Officer, Road Patrol Sergeant, District Commander (District 11), Watch Commander, Executive Officer of the Violent Crimes Division (Homicide), Executive Officer of Internal Affairs, and Command Duty Officer (Law Enforcement Operations).

Major Ford currently oversees the Investigative Operations Bureau of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, which includes Behavioral Services, Fugitive Warrants & Civil Process, and Special Investigations.  The bureau has a combined staff of 217 dedicated professionals.

Major Ford holds a B.A. Degree in Criminal Justice from The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). He’s a Dean’s Scholar graduate of the 129^th Administrative Officer’s Course at the Southern Police Institute through the School of Justice Administration at the University of Louisville, and a graduate of the 74^th Session of the Senior Management Institute for Police (SMIP) held at Boston University, organized through the Police Executive Research Forum. Major Ford is married with three sons.
