Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed HB 657 in 2023 making speed cameras legal in Florida for the first time by allowing their use in school zones. Palm Beach County is working to implement the cameras following the bill’s passage.
Cameras have already been installed in school zones throughout the Village of Wellington and the City of Greenacres. These systems are intended to promote compliance with posted speed limits and enhance safety for children.
NOTE: A NOV for a school speed zone does not appear on your driving record.
