Update

The investigation into the death of Linda Campitelli has determined that her injuries are consistent with homicide.

Through further investigative efforts, detectives identified Rene J. Perez, 38, as the suspect. An arrest warrant was obtained, and on March 10, 2026, Perez was located in Miami and taken into custody. He was transported to the Palm Beach County Jail, where he has been booked on charges of First Degree Murder with a Deadly Weapon and Tampering with Physical Evidence in connection with Linda Campitelli’s death.

Rene J. Perez is scheduled to appear for first appearance on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.

Location:     6100 block of Lyons Road

Deputies were dispatched to the 6100 block of Lyons Road, for a welfare check, after reports of an unresponsive female found outside of a vehicle on the southbound shoulder. Upon arrival, the female was pronounced deceased.

This death investigation is active and ongoing.
