Keep Palm Beach County Safe is a new public safety program, administered by the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, enabling the people of Palm Beach County to contribute to the safety and security of their community. Your participation will greatly enhance emergency preparedness by enabling law enforcement and public safety professionals to better assess and address criminal activity and emergency situations. It will also enable investigators to easily gather evidence in case of an incident.

Suspect Busted for Drug Trafficking

During the month of May, agents initiated a narcotics investigation into Jimmy Gilles.  Based on the information and evidence developed during the investigation, agents established probable cause and obtained a residential search warrant for his residence in Boynton Beach.

State Attorney’s Office and FDLE Investigate Deputy Involved Shooting – Unincorporated West Palm Beach

On Wednesday, August 5, 2026, shortly after 8:00 p.m., deputies responded to a welfare check in the 2900 block of Hope Valley Street in unincorporated West Palm Beach. Upon arrival, deputies encountered the suspect engaged in a physical struggle with his mother and father while armed with a kitchen knife.  Deputies repeatedly issued verbal commands for the suspect to drop the knife; however, he refused to comply and continued fighting with his father while remaining armed.

Suspect Arrested for Human Trafficking

The PBSO Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit is asking for the public's help in identifying anyone who may have had encounters with Michel Montano Alvarez. Montano Alvarez met his victim through his business and has been arrested on charges of Human Trafficking of a minor and Lewd and Lascivious Molestation.  Investigators believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward.

Scam Alert – Beware – PBSO is warning the public about an imposter

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is warning the public about an imposter sending fraudulent emails while falsely claiming to be a Captain with the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. The scam email instructs recipients to participate in a "ZOOM COURT OFFICIAL PROCEEDING" regarding a purported "Federal Court Virtual Disposition." This email is not legitimate and did not originate from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office or any federal court.

Operation Southern Slow Down 2026

Beginning July 13, 2026, state and local law enforcement agencies in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee will join forces for a week-long high-visibility enforcement and awareness campaign to reduce fatalities and serious injuries by encouraging motorists to obey speed limits on roadways ranging from local streets to interstate highways. This initiative is called "Operation Southern Slow Down" and will run from July 13 through July 18, 2026.
