Deputies Assist New Resident Clean Up Newly Purchased Home within Plantation Community.
A new resident recently purchased a renovated home on Meridian Rd within the Plantation Community. Unfortunately, a squatter had taken up residence in an old abandoned van on the property. He littered the area with garbage, old chairs, pillows, blankets, molding food and buckets of dirty water, all of which was a harbor for rodents, bugs and insects.
Deputies worked with the new resident who had the van towed away, prompting the squatter to pack up some belongings and leave. But he left a HUGE mess behind for the new owners to deal with.
Deputies and two community members arrived early Saturday morning armed with gloves and garbage bags and pulled all the litter to the curb. They contacted our partners at Solid Waste who collected the garbage.
It was a job well done to help continue to improve the quality of life for our communities.
