Deputies Respond to a Structure Fire and Heroically Extract Two Teenagers who sadly succumb to their injuries
Just after midnight, deputies were dispatched to a structure fire located in the 2800 block of East Main Street, Pahokee. Upon arrival, deputies found the residence to be fully engulfed in flames. An adult female advised she was able to escape from the residence but her two 14 yr. old daughters were still inside. Deputies immediately began breaking windows and comprising walls to get inside to extract the girls. Once the girls were located, by deputies and brought outside the structure, deputies immediately began CPR. Fire Rescue personnel arrived and took over the CPR efforts. Both girls were transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The girl’s identity are as follows:
Cassandra Colon, 14 years old
Catherine Colon, 14 years old
PBC FR personnel will determine the cause of the fire.
