PBSO Seeks Additional Victims of attempted Kidnappings
We believe that Osvaldo Vicente may have tried to lure other children/teens to do community work and thankfully was not successful.
On July 6, 2019, around 10:00 am, two teen boys were walking in the City of Lake Worth beach towards M Street, when a male driving a pickup truck appearing to be a landscaper, later known as the suspect, Osvaldo Vicente, approached the boys. The suspect, asked the boys if they wanted to make a few dollars cutting grass and picking up trash roughly a block away. Both boys agreed but the suspect said he could only take one. The older of the two teen’s decided to go with the suspect. Instead of traveling a block away the suspect began to drive towards I-95. The boy became concerned and said, “where are we going”? The suspect tried to establish a rapport with the boy and began to touch him inappropriately. The boy becoming very uncomfortable asked the male to stop! But the suspect continued. The suspect exited I- 95 in Delray Beach. As soon as the vehicle came to a stop, at a traffic light, the boy jumped out of the truck and ran to a nearby gas station an asked the clerk for help, to call 911. At that time the suspect fled.
Detectives from the Special Victims Unit adopted the investigation. After speaking with the victim, the clerk and obtaining surveillance video from the scenes detectives determined Osvaldo Vicente to be the suspect. A warrant was immediately issued for Osvaldo Vicente and he was picked up on the charges below.
It appears that Osvaldo Vicente’s motive is to lure boys to earn cash for “work”.
Anyone who may have been a victim of Osvaldo Vicente is urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS.
