Applications Development Manager

- The Department of Information Technology seeks an Applications Development Manager to lead our software development team. This position requires a strong technical background in application development, along with proven experience in managing development teams. This role involves overseeing the design, development, and implementation of software applications, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with business objectives. Key duties and responsibilities include:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software developers, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Oversee the design, development, and deployment of high-quality, scalable software applications. Ensure that application architecture aligns with the agency’s overall IT strategy and business objectives. Collaborate with product managers, and other stakeholders to define application requirements and ensure they are accurately implemented. Manage the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), from project planning and requirements gathering to development, testing, and deployment. Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management. Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in software development, continuously evaluating and implementing new tools, frameworks, and methodologies. Drive innovation within the development team, identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains. Act as the primary point of contact for development-related queries, providing regular updates to senior management and other stakeholders. Clerical Specialist (Communications)
Performs routine clerical duties of moderate complexity associated with typing, filing, ordering supplies, providing general office support, and disseminating information to departments, outside agencies, and the public. Work also includes performing clerical duties that require skill in the use of a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review or modify data. Prepares memos, letters, electronic communication and other documents, verifying for accuracy. Utilizes word processing, database and other software programs. Ability to multi-task and work both independently and as a team member. Answers the telephone, provides information and assistance, and redirects calls to appropriate personnel as needed. Provides assistance or coverage to other employees as needed. Operates a PBSO vehicle to transport deliveries between Emergency Communications Centers and other locations (Belle Glade and West Palm Beach). Coordinates and facilitates the maintenance on Communications assigned vehicles. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsible for the safety and well-being of children and assisting them crossing the street.
Corrections Recruit (Corrections Academy Sponsorship- PBSC/IRSC)
Responsible for the protection of life and property within detention facilities; deters and suppresses violations of laws within the facility and ensures rules are followed. Monitors and surveils inmates; performs inspections to ensure compliance with all federal, state, local and agency standards. Prepares legal documentation and reports, processes fingerprints and pictures to ensure inmate identification, executes emergency plans, resolves disputes and performs necessary restraint techniques. Performs other duties as assigned.
Deputy Sheriff Corr. - FL Certified

A Reserve Deputy Sheriff is a commissioned sworn volunteer law enforcement officer who holds a Florida Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission certification. Responsible for the protection of life and property and enforcement of laws and ordinances. The position requires considerable knowledge of modern principles and practices of police work including: knowledge of first-aid methods, ability to act reasonably without direct supervision, ability to observe situations and analytically and objectively, ability to report and record situations clearly and completely, ability to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations, ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and a demographically diverse public. Performs other duties as assigned.
