Update

After further investigaton, detectives identified Darrion McKinnon as the suspect who committed the shooting/homicide in South Bay on January 2, 2024.  McKinnon was located, arrested and charged with First Degree Murder.

January 2, 2024

At approximately 11:18 am, deputies responded to a shooting in the 800 block of Palm Beach Road, South Bay. Upon arrival, deputies located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound(s) in the parking lot.  The male was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives from the Violent Crimes Division arrived on scene to investigate this shooting as a homicide.  No suspect or motive is known at this time.
