PBSO deputies were dispatched to a shooting in the 600 block of State Road 715, Belle Glade. Upon arrival, they discovered three adult males suffering from gunshot wounds. Vanessa, Our Beloved 18 Year Old Holsteiner Mare Passes Away

The Sheriff’s Office Mounted Unit is heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Vanessa, our beloved 18-year-old Holsteiner mare. Vanessa fell ill during her assignment at St. Mary’s Medical Center and sadly succumbed to her medical condition. Known for her athleticism and confidence, she was a cherished member of our team and will be deeply missed.

On October 31, 2024, at 9:45 PM, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the Olympia guard house located at the intersection of Fatio Boulevard and Shearson Boulevard in Wellington. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult male deceased from apparent gunshot wounds and a second adult male suffering from a gunshot wound to the foot. PBSO is Reaccredited with “Excelsior” Status by Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation, Inc.

In July of this year (2024), four experienced law enforcement professionals trained as assessors were selected by the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation, Inc. to conduct an assessment of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. This assessment looked at our policies, procedures, practices, and facilities to determine compliance with 235 Commission standards.
