Vanessa, Our Beloved 18 Year Old Holsteiner Mare Passes Away

The Sheriff’s Office Mounted Unit is heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Vanessa, our beloved 18-year-old Holsteiner mare. Vanessa fell ill during her assignment at St. Mary’s Medical Center and sadly succumbed to her medical condition. Known for her athleticism and confidence, she was a cherished member of our team and will be deeply missed.

Shooting/Homicide at Ali Baba Club in Greenacres

PBSO deputies responded to a shooting in the parking lot of Ali Baba Club, 4600 block of Lake Worth Road, Greenacres. Upon arrival deputies located one adult male deceased from gunshot wounds and a second adult male suffering from gunshot wounds.  Detectives from the Violent Crimes Division are investigating this Shooting/Homicide. Juvenile Brawl at Olympia in Wellington

On October 31, 2024, at 9:45 PM, Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the Olympia guard house located at the intersection of Fatio Boulevard and Shearson Boulevard in Wellington. The initial call, made by Olympia security, reported a person with a gun at the clubhouse. However, upon arrival, deputies were informed by several juveniles and security personnel that the situation involved only a verbal altercation. Seeking the Public Assistance Identifying Robbery Suspects

The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public's assistance in identifying two suspects involved in a robbery at GameStop. On December 22, 2023, the suspects entered the store located in the 1200 block of Northlake Blvd, Lake Park, and inquired about purchasing a PlayStation 5 console. When an employee presented the console, one suspect snatched it from the employee's hands and both suspects immediately fled.

5 Year Anniversary – Homicide in Lake Park

On Wednesday, October 9th, 2019, at about 11:11 a.m., a shooting occurred in the area of Laurel Drive and Flagler Boulevard within the city of Lake Park. Unfortunately, the victim, Jonathan White, was shot and killed and the suspect(s) fled the area in a black SUV.

In July of this year (2024), four experienced law enforcement professionals trained as assessors were selected by the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation, Inc. to conduct an assessment of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. This assessment looked at our policies, procedures, practices, and facilities to determine compliance with 235 Commission standards. Update – Detectives Investigate at Double Homicide on Canal Street, Belle Glade

Shortly before 10:00 pm, last evening, deputies responded to a shooting at 27 Canal Street, Belle Glade. Upon arrival, deputies located two adult males deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. Detectives from the Violent Crimes Division arrived on scene to investigate this double shooting/double homicide further. No suspect or motive is known at this time. PBSO, Brightline, Florida East Coast Rail, Trial Rail and Amtrak Participate in Rail Safety Week
