Early this morning, just after 6:00 am, a 911 call was received by PBSO Communications reporting that an 8-year-old boy may have fallen off the sea wall into the Boynton Inlet at 6990 N. Ocean Blvd. A rapid and comprehensive search was initiated immediately upon the arrival of deputies. This involved our Marine Unit, Helicopter, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Dive Team, Boynton Beach Police Department Marine Unit, Boynton Beach Fire Rescue Dive Team, FWC, Palm Beach County lifeguards, and the Coast Guard.

At 10:39 am, the child was found on the north side of the inlet, on the ocean side, by the Boynton Beach Fire Rescue Dive Team.

Currently, PBSO detectives, Crime Scene investigators, and the Palm Beach County Medical Examiner’s Office are at the scene for further investigation.
